Doha Bank wins ‘Best Retail Bank’ and ‘Best For Remittances’ at MEED Awards 2026

Doha Bank has been honored with two prestigious awards at the MEED MENA Banking Excellence Awards 2026: 'Best Retail Bank' and 'Best For Remittances'. This recognition highlights the bank's dedication to digital innovation and providing customer-centric financial solutions. The 'Best Retail Bank' award acknowledges Doha Bank's successful execution of a retail strategy focused on customer experience and digital enablement.

The bank recently upgraded its mobile platform to introduce end-to-end onboarding for new-to-bank customers through digital KYC and biometric verification, resulting in a surge in active digital banking users and boosting annual card spend to over QR6 billion for the first time. Securing the 'Best For Remittances' title is a testament to Doha Bank's launch of a unified digital remittance platform across its mobile and online channels.

This platform enables fast, secure cross-border payments to over 80 corridors. The bank also became the first in Qatar to introduce Mastercard Move, allowing faster, lower-fee transfers directly from its digital platforms. Doha Bank Group Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Fahad bin Faisal Al Thani expressed pride in these awards, stating that they are a testament to the bank's commitment to simplifying and elevating the banking experience through seamless digital onboarding and affordable international transfers.
