Devotees seek round-the-clock police patrolling on Girivalam path to improve public safety

Residents and devotees at the Arunachaleswarar Temple in Tiruvannamalai are requesting round-the-clock police patrols along the Girivalam path to enhance public safety. The 'Aadi' festival season has brought a surge in devotees, particularly from neighboring Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, to pray at the temple. G. Pavithra, a devotee, stated that the path is open round the clock, and more night patrols should be implemented to ensure visitor safety.

The State Highways Department has demolished encroachments along the remaining nine km of the path, with completion expected in two days. However, the lack of visible police patrols, especially at night, on the Girivalam path remains a concern for residents and devotees.
