Derrick Henry’s workload remains central to the Ravens' offense

Baltimore Ravens' first-year offensive coordinator Declan Doyle has emphasized that Derrick Henry will continue to be a cornerstone of the team's offense in 2026. While Doyle did not provide a specific number of carries for Henry, he described his role as "immense" during a recent interview with reporters. Henry has amassed over 300 carries in each of his first two seasons with the Ravens, totaling 632 carries across those two years.

He has contributed significantly to the team's rushing attack, accumulating 3,516 rushing yards and 32 touchdowns. Baltimore has complementing options to help manage Henry's workload, including Justice Hill, Rasheen Ali, and rookie Adam Randall. However, none of these players can replace Henry's crucial role in the offense. Doyle's transition to calling plays at the NFL level should be eased by having Henry in the backfield, as defenses will need to allocate more resources to stopping the Ravens' rushing attack.

This could create favorable matchups for the team's passing game, including Lamar Jackson, Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, and Mark Andrews. However, the Ravens will still need consistent blocking from their offensive line as they undergo changes at center and guard positions. Doyle did not commit to a specific workload for Henry in August, but his description of Henry's role as "immense" confirms that he will remain a significant part of the Baltimore offense.
