DC's TV Division Reportedly Scrapped Two Key TV Projects, Rejected Pitches for Catwoman and Poison Ivy Shows

DC Studios has reportedly abandoned two key TV projects and dismissed pitches for other promising shows, according to a report from The Ankler. The studio has halted production on Paradise Lost, a series centered around Amazonian warriors in Themyscira, which could potentially connect to Wonder Woman's future storyline. Additionally, DC is canceling plans for Waller, a show that would have starred Viola Davis as a tough government official leading the Suicide Squad.

Out of the ten projects initially announced, three have been scrapped, including The Authority. The studio remains uncertain about the direction of its Batman film, The Brave and the Bold, separate from Robert Pattinson's standalone Batman series. There has been little progress on Swamp Thing, with director James Mangold occupied by other projects.

Despite earlier rumors, a Booster Gold series is still in development, with DC searching for a new writer. DC Studios also considered pitches for Poison Ivy and Catwoman shows but ultimately decided against them. These projects, all led by female characters, have raised speculation that their demise may be linked to the underperformance of Supergirl, which garnered poor reviews and box office results.

Fans hope that the cancellation of these shows will not hinder the future of other powerful DC female characters.
