CIDCO Seizes 15 Dumpers In Navi Mumbai Crackdown On Illegal Construction Debris Dumping

Navi Mumbai witnessed a crackdown on illegal construction debris dumping, resulting in the seizure of 15 dumpers on August 11. The operation, conducted jointly by CIDCO's security and engineering departments along with local police in various locations across Navi Mumbai, Panvel, and Uran, aimed to curb the debris mafia responsible for illegally dumping construction waste on CIDCO-acquired land.

The highest number of seizures occurred in Ulwe, where five dumpers carrying allegedly hazardous waste were intercepted while being transported for unauthorized dumping. In Vashi, three dumpers were seized near the toll naka, while in Uran, three more were caught near DNA Marine Services on Gavan Phata-Chirner Road. Additional seizures were made in Panvel, Kharghar, CBD, Rabale, and within Rabale police station limits.

CIDCO officials emphasized that illegal dumping on its acquired land persists despite enforcement drives and warned of strict action against violators. They stated that cases will be registered under stringent provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for those found violating rules, with the crackdown continuing in the days to come. The CIDCO administration highlighted concerns over the environmental degradation caused by illegal dumping near residential areas and the potential health risks to residents.
