Can PSG do a three-peat and win six trophies this season?

Paris St-Germain (PSG) are aiming to achieve a rare feat of winning six trophies this season, including three consecutive Champions League titles. The French giants, who won the Champions League in 2025, are also targeting the UEFA Super Cup against Aston Villa in Salzburg on Wednesday (20:00 BST).

PSG's ambition mirrors the achievements of Real Madrid and Ajax, who are the only other teams to have won three consecutive European Cups - Real Madrid did so from 1956 to 1960, while Ajax and Bayern Munich both achieved the feat in the 1970s. Only three other teams have won three consecutive European Cups in any five-year period - Liverpool (1977, 1978, 1981), Liverpool (1981, 1982, 1983), and Liverpool (2005, 2006, 2007).

However, no major team has ever achieved six trophy wins in a single season. The record stands at five, set by Celtic in the 1966-67 season, and several clubs, including Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Manchester City, have won four trophies in a year.

PSG's path to success this season will be challenging, as they will be competing in six competitions - the UEFA Super Cup, Trophee des Champions, Champions League, Ligue 1, French Cup, and FIFA Intercontinental Cup. The team will also have to contend with players returning from the World Cup, with some players having only limited time to recover before the Super Cup match.
