Babar Azam Returns to Top 10 of ICC Test Batting Rankings After Two Years

Pakistan's Test captain Babar Azam has returned to the ICC Test batting rankings top 10, marking a significant comeback two years after his last appearance. His climb to the top 10 comes after a stellar performance in Pakistan's eight-wicket victory over the West Indies in Port of Spain. Azam notched up 88 runs in the first innings and remained unbeaten at 24 in the second, demonstrating his resilience and skill.

The latest ICC Test Batting Rankings list positions Australia's Travis Head at the top with a rating of 853, followed by England's Harry Brook at 852 and Joe Root at 840. Babar Azam secures the 10th spot with a rating of 716. In addition to his improved batting ranking, Abdullah Shafique also experienced a major jump, climbing 25 places to 32nd following his match-winning performance.

He scored an unbeaten 160 in the first innings and 24 in the second, earning the Player of the Match award. Pakistan's bowling lineup also saw some positive changes, with Sajid Khan moving up five places to 30th and Mohammad Ali climbing eight spots to 85th. The most impressive jump among the bowlers was made by left-arm spinner Ali Usman, who rose 58 places to 97th.
