Airlines resume flights as aviation unions suspend strike

Domestic airlines across the nation have resumed flight operations following a temporary suspension of industrial action by aviation unions, according to reports. The resumption took place hours after the strike had disrupted flights and left passengers stranded at airports nationwide.

Osifo-Whiskey Efe, a spokesperson for Air Peace, addressed reporters on Tuesday regarding the airline's decision to resume operations. He stated that while the airline currently operates approximately 70 regional and international flights daily, it had previously cancelled 29 flights as of Tuesday afternoon. Efe added that further cancellations were possible as the airline sought to determine the number of flights that could safely operate with passengers waiting at the airports.

The spokesperson noted that the aviation unions had announced at the airport that they were temporarily suspending the industrial action, confirming the resumption of flights. Efe clarified, "Yes, they stated that it has been suspended," emphasizing the airlines' ongoing efforts to accommodate affected passengers and adjust their schedules accordingly.
