Adeleke campaign petitions IG over Fadahunsi’s ‘kill Accord members’ remark

The Imole Campaign Council, the official campaign organization for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, has urgently requested Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu to ensure the safety of members and supporters of the Accord Party ahead of the gubernatorial election scheduled for Saturday. This request comes in response to alleged inflammatory remarks made by Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Senatorial District, in a video that has circulated on social media.

While Fadahunsi has denied the statement, he did attend an invitation from the Osun State Police Command to discuss the matter. The petition, signed by the council's spokesman, Pelumi Olajengbesi, claims that if verified, these remarks would pose a significant threat to the safety of Accord members and supporters, especially those residing in Ilesa and other regions within the Osun East Senatorial District.

The council emphasizes that all eligible voters should be able to exercise their right to vote without fear of violence or death due to their political affiliation. They urge the Inspector-General to deploy necessary security measures to protect these individuals before, during, and after the election, particularly in Ilesa and the Osun East region.
