18 terrorists killed in VBIED explosion, security operation in Balochistan

In a recent security operation in Balochistan, eighteen terrorists associated with the terrorist group Fitna Al Hindustan were killed following the detonation of a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED), according to the military's media wing. The incident occurred in Surab district on August 12 when the VBIED was prematurely detonated while the terrorists were preparing it.

This initial explosion resulted in the deaths of eight terrorists and injuries to several others. Subsequently, the explosion of additional explosives stored at the site claimed the lives of three civilians in the vicinity.

Security forces and the Balochistan Police swiftly responded to the scene, initiating a joint clearance operation to apprehend the remaining terrorists and those who aided them. During the operation, security forces detected fleeing terrorists and engaged them in combat, resulting in the deaths of another ten terrorists. Two security personnel were also injured during an intense firefight.

Following the successful evacuation of the area, sanitization operations are underway to ensure no terrorists remain. The ongoing counter-terrorism campaign, aligned with the 'Azm-e-Istehkam' vision endorsed by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, will continue with full vigor to eradicate foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
