YEA to migrate personnel on public sector salary structure – CEO

Malik Basintale, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), has expressed confidence that personnel of the Agency will soon benefit from improved conditions of service. The YEA is currently working with the government to transition its personnel into the public sector wage system, a move that will lead to enhanced salaries.

Addressing personnel at Techiman during his tour of the Bono East Region, Basintale reiterated the Agency's commitment to improving the conditions of service for its workers. He emphasized that public service workers, including YEA personnel, deserve fair wages, deserving promotions, and public salary increments. Basintale assured the personnel that the government is dedicated to enhancing their wellbeing.

He also announced that contract personnel, including those on the YEA models, would be included in the migration process. The YEA has already created job opportunities for over 90,000 youth nationwide, including 6,000 community first response personnel under its Ambulance Service model. Basintale further highlighted the Agency's collaboration with the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), the Ghana Health Service (GHS), and the Ghana Education Service in addressing substance abuse in schools.

He also presented startup kits to beneficiaries of the Agency's employable skills training models, encouraging them to start their own businesses. Bono East Regional Minister, Mr. Francis Owusu Antwi, praised the government's commitment to job creation through employable skills training and urged unemployed youth to take advantage of the YEA's training programs to secure decent jobs and improve their livelihoods.
