Woman, friend arrested for poisoning husband, three daughters in Faisalabad

Faisalabad's Saddar police arrested a woman, Asma Bibi, and her friend Babar Ali on Monday, accusing them of poisoning her husband, Azhar Ali, to death, as well as their three minor daughters. The incident occurred on July 23 at Azhar's residence in Sitara Park locality on Jaranwala Road. Muhammad Tahir, the complainant, alleged in his FIR that Azhar's wife had relations with Babar Ali, and together they administered poison to both Azhar and his daughters in an attempt to consummate a marriage.

Despite Azhar's death, his daughters were saved by doctors at DHQ Hospital Faisalabad. Asma and Babar were subsequently arrested by the police.

In a separate incident, Chak Jhumra police arrested water supply tubewell operator Muhammad Rizwan for the strangling of his colleague, Ehtasham Ashraf. It was reported that the deceased had complained about Rizwan's absence from duty, causing Rizwan to take revenge by strangling Ashraf with a cloth.

Additionally, a train accident near Khanewal Railway Station claimed the life of 43-year-old Jaffar Ali, who was crossing the track when the train struck him, resulting in fatal injuries. Meanwhile, a mini-truck carrying wheat bags collided with a motorcycle-rickshaw in Faisalabad's Meeranwala Bangla area, burying its driver, Abdul Ghafoor, under the wheat bags.

Rescuers removed the bags and found Ghafoor deceased. Lastly, a pesticide raid in Faisalabad by the agriculture department's pesticide wing, led by Deputy Director Zulfiqar Ali Ghouri, uncovered over 37,000kg of counterfeit pesticides in a warehouse. Owner Muhammad Bilal was booked by Faisalabad’s Airport police, while a worker within the warehouse was arrested.
