Travis Barker and Tom DeLonge Got So High with Cypress Hill That They Wanted to Go Home

Travis Barker shared a vivid memory from his past with Apple Music host Zane Lowe. The drummer recounted a time when getting high before a blink-182 concert led to an intense and exhausting show. Barker explained that he typically refrains from smoking prior to performances due to his dedication to his craft and the energetic nature of the band's shows.

However, there was one notable exception - a tour with No Doubt and Cypress Hill. B-Real and Sen Dog convinced Barker to partake in some pre-show marijuana with them before their final show. Initially hesitant, Barker eventually gave in after they reminded him that they would be departing immediately after the performance. "Dude, let me tell you, it was the longest fucking show," Barker recalled.

"Songs felt like they lasted forever." The experience was particularly strange from behind the drum kit, with Barker describing his body functioning while his mind felt disconnected. Guitarist Tom DeLonge expressed his frustration halfway through the set, telling Barker, "I wanna go home." Barker echoed his sentiment, stating, "It was so awful."

Mark Hoppus, the band's rhythm guitarist, was oblivious to the duo's state during the performance. Barker concluded that smoking before shows is not something he would consider again. This interview comes in advance of the premiere of "Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear," a documentary about his life and career, set to air on Hulu and Disney+ on August 13th.

In recent news, blink-182 have reportedly begun work on a new album, and Barker admitted that while he frequently appears with wife Kourtney Kardashian on The Kardashians, he rarely watches the show. Meanwhile, Cypress Hill's B-Real has been working on the group's first Spanish-language album and plans to tour with the record.
