Traffic fines piling up? Dubai Police explains your options

Dubai Police has alerted drivers to promptly settle traffic fines, explaining the options for paying them in installments and through digital channels. The General Department of Traffic held an awareness seminar for over 70 staff members of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, covering fines, smart services, road safety and responsible mobility.

Brigadier Issam Ibrahim Al Awar, Acting Director of the General Department of Traffic, stated that the workshops aim to increase traffic awareness among various community groups, making it easier for motorists to comply with laws and reduce violations.

The workshop highlighted the significance of avoiding the buildup of traffic fines, which can result in increased financial burdens and legal actions. Attendees were educated on Dubai Police's smart payment options and the available instalment plans for traffic fines, offering drivers more flexibility in managing their outstanding payments.

Colonel Talal Abdullah Al Mansouri, Director of the Traffic Education Department, emphasized common unsafe driving behaviors and their impact on public safety. He also explained the various methods for settling traffic fines, such as the Dubai Police smart app, website, self-service kiosks, and Smart Police Stations (SPS), all accessible 24/7.

The seminar also addressed bicycle and e-scooter usage, providing participants with information on traffic regulations, designated paths, safety requirements, and the necessity of wearing proper protective gear. Dubai Police introduced the Aman Roads platform to attendees, a traffic safety platform that delivers regular updates on road safety.

The platform includes traffic advice, awareness campaigns, and initiatives designed to enhance community members' knowledge of road safety and encourage practices that can help prevent accidents.
