Thunderstorms forecast across parts of Kingdom as temperatures reach 47°C

On Tuesday, the National Center for Meteorology (NCM) predicts thunderstorms with rain will sweep across several regions of the Kingdom. The heatwave will see temperatures soaring, with some areas expected to reach a scorching 47°C. Riyadh will experience a high of 46°C, while Makkah, Madinah, and Jeddah will see temperatures climbing to 44°C, 45°C, and 42°C respectively. Dammam will be the hottest spot, with temperatures reaching a record-breaking 47°C.

Elsewhere in the Kingdom, Abha will have a high of 32°C, Tabuk 39°C, Buraidah 47°C, Hail 42°C, and Najran 42°C. The Northern Borders Region is also set to experience hot to extremely hot weather.

The NCM anticipates thunderclouds and rain in parts of Jazan, Asir, Najran, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province. Along with the rain, active winds are expected to stir up dust and sand, potentially reducing horizontal visibility to near zero along the coastal road leading to Jazan.

Riyadh is forecast to see thunderstorm clouds, active winds, and raised dust. Makkah and Jeddah will be partly cloudy with active winds and raised dust. Madinah will be partly cloudy, while Dammam is expected to have suspended dust, partly cloudy to cloudy skies, and active winds. Tabuk will experience active winds, Buraidah partly cloudy with active winds and raised dust, Hail partly cloudy with active winds, Al-Baha suspended dust, partly cloudy skies, and active winds, Abha thunderstorm clouds and active winds, and Najran partly cloudy to cloudy with active winds and raised dust.
