The Office star Lucy Davis announces she has incurable cancer

Actress Lucy Davis, renowned for her role as Dawn Tinsley in the UK version of The Office, has disclosed she has incurable stage 4 breast cancer. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Davis shared that the cancer has metastasised to her bones, including her spine, hip, and ribs. She revealed the initial lump she felt was extremely small and she had initially neglected it.

Davis emphasised the importance of not ignoring any health concerns and getting them checked out promptly. The actress, who has also worked in films such as Shaun of the Dead, Wonder Woman and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, noted that there is no cure for stage 4 breast cancer, but treatment can help manage the disease and extend life.

Despite the diagnosis, Davis is determined to find joy and continue her activism for animal rights. She is a long-term vegan and a vocal advocate for animal welfare, having previously posed nude for PETA's campaign against traditional bearskin caps. Davis expressed gratitude for the lessons she has learned from her health battle and emphasised the importance of humour and not being treated as if she is unwell.
