Super Giants deny Sunrisers and boost knockout bid

In a dramatic finish to The Hundred, Manchester Super Giants secured a 10-wicket victory over Sunrisers Leeds, advancing their chances of reaching the knockout stages. Set a modest target of 128 runs, Super Giants batted first and posted a formidable score of 128-0 in just 67 balls, thanks to a stellar 80* off 40 balls from Tim Seifert and a well-deserved 44* off 28 balls from Paul Walter.

Seifert's unbeaten innings was nothing short of spectacular, with five fours and seven sixes contributing to his total. Paul Walter, who took over the top spot in the Super Giants batting lineup, added 44 not out to the partnership. The Kiwi's explosive hitting was crucial in dismantling Sunrisers' bowling attack, with 44 deliveries filled with destructive stroke play.

Sunrisers struggled to get their bottom half going, and despite some resistance from Mitch Marsh and Ryan Rickelton, their top order collapsed. Noor Ahmad was the pick of the Super Giants bowlers with 3-30, while Gus Atkinson's impressive spell of 3-30 further tightened the noose around Sunrisers' innings.

With this victory, Super Giants not only denied Sunrisers an automatic place in the final but also moved above them in the standings, boasting a superior net run-rate of 0.791.
