The enlightened must awaken others.

Jesus taught that people must become aware of themselves in order to shine the light of truth upon all others. No one should hide a lantern under a basket or cover it with a cup. The light of the lantern should be placed on a lampstand, so that everyone entering and leaving sees its glow. (This teaching is found in Matthew 5:15; Mark 10:27; Luke 8:16; and John 12:3.)

Misinterpretations of this message can lead to focusing on individual parts of truth, such as the light of one ear versus the other, rather than the universal illumination of truth. However, the true meaning is that an individual who understands this truth must spread its light to all people, dispelling the darkness of duality within them. True enlightenment is the light of a single truth that cannot be hidden, and a person who has awakened lives a life of light even as they enter and leave the world.

This single truth is present everywhere in the universe, eliminating distinctions between God, creation, mind, and matter. In a world illuminated by this truth, there are no darker sins, and the light of truth is always within and beyond the self. The document "Message of Truth" states that there is an abundant "light of truth" in the universe, and all beings are suffused with this divine light.

To awaken people from the dream of dualism, one must share this light of truth, freeing them from the bondage of this world and enabling them to see the reality beyond illusion.

This awakening involves freeing oneself from the ego that holds onto the belief in separate selves, and embracing a single life force. By doing so, one transcends the ego of mortality and becomes a being of pure consciousness, entering a new state of existence. The path to this state requires letting go of dualistic thinking, attachment to the external world, and ego-driven desires. Only then can one experience the true essence of the universe – the oneness of God and all things.

When a person has realized this truth, they are able to share the divine light with others, guiding them out of the darkness of ignorance and into the light of truth. The ultimate reality is not a separate deity, but rather the absolute oneness of existence itself, shining forth as divine light. Therefore, those who have awakened to this truth must proclaim the light of truth to all, liberating others from the illusory constraints of the ego and leading them to the eternal presence of divine light.
