Social Security expands list of conditions to 314 illnesses for faster disability claims

A security guard in Kolkata named Shovan Chakraborty lost his job after a video of him singing a Rabindra Sangeet went viral. He was wearing his uniform while performing the song. Despite the positive response to his singing abilities, the company deemed him unsuitable for his role and terminated his employment. Shovan began learning music from his mother at a young age and later trained at Sangeet Bhavana in Santiniketan.

He later taught music to local children and pursued a music career while teaching arts subjects to Bengali-medium students. Now approaching 40 and having lost his security guard job, Shovan struggles to make ends meet, living with his elderly mother in Sakher Bazar, Behala. He seeks public support to refer potential music students to him, requesting financial assistance only for his own work.
