Sithelo Shozi officially a makoti as Kudzaishe Magura pays lobola

Durban-born socialite and media personality Sithelo Shozi, known for her role in The Masked Singer SA, is officially a makoti after her traditional lobola ceremony with fiancé Kudzaishe James Magura in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal, in early August 2026. The ceremony took place in her hometown, marking Shozi's formal entry into customary marriage, following Magura's surprise proposal during a luxurious birthday trip to Italy earlier in the year.

Magura, a Zimbabwean businessman, presented Shozi with a Tiffany & Co. diamond ring during a romantic boat outing on Lake Como, where he popped the question on her 32nd birthday. The couple, who dated briefly in 2018 before reuniting and expanding their family with Shozi's three children and Magura's two daughters from a previous relationship, celebrated the engagement on Instagram with Shozi sharing an amusing caption, "and suddenly I’m left-handed."

While pregnancy rumors circulated following the engagement, Shozi denied being pregnant, expressing hopes to grow their family in the future. Post-engagement, Shozi announced her decision to prioritize her television career and family. She has been celebrated by fans on social media, many using her popular nickname "iMayor yeTheku."

However, some criticism was directed at Magura's Zimbabwean background, stemming from tax-fraud allegations he faced in 2020. Despite this, the overall reaction to the news remained largely positive.
