#SHOWBIZ: Daler Yusuf warns Azrel Ismail against Indonesia move, citing hard lessons

KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Azrel Ismail has received an offer to star in a TV series in Indonesia, but he must consider the implications of relocating to the country. In a recent post on social media, the 42-year-old actor expressed his contemplation over moving for the acting opportunity.

The offer caught the attention of fellow actor Daler Yusuf Khamrokulov Muhammad, who also shared his firsthand experience working in Indonesia. Daler, 34, advised Azrel against accepting the offer due to the intense competition, differing culture, and the country's entertainment industry.

Daler recalled his own experience in 2017 when he received multiple major acting offers in Malaysia before receiving roles in both a film and a TV series in Indonesia. However, upon arrival, he found that the roles were smaller than anticipated and he had to attend auditions almost every day. After a month, he returned to Malaysia, expressing his dissatisfaction with Jakarta's traffic and the contrasting atmosphere.

Daler admitted that he struggled adjusting to Jakarta's traffic congestion and the unfamiliar environment, highlighting the differences in culture compared to what he was used to in Malaysia. He concluded that Malaysia is the best place for him.
