Rosario Dawson, known for her role as Claire Temple in Marvel's "Daredevil," shared her thoughts on being cut from "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" at a recent fan convention, GalaxyCon Raleigh 2026. Despite her disappointment, Dawson expressed positivity, noting that her character may have future opportunities to cross paths with Spider-Man in the universe.

She recalled shooting a scene for the movie, expressing her excitement until she received the news she was cut. Dawson's connection to Spider-Man runs deep, stemming from her uncle Gustavo Vazquez, a comic book artist who shared her passion for the medium. The actress humorously recounted how her own desire to post BTS photos was also thwarted by this setback.

She expressed her hope to return as Claire Temple, grateful for the numerous opportunities her character has had to interact with various superheroes. Screenwriters Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers revealed that Dawson's scene was cut to improve the movie's flow, but acknowledged its quality. The scene would have taken place before Peter Parker's visit to Bruce's college, effectively functioning as a transition.

While the deleted scene may be missed by fans, Dawson remains hopeful for a future opportunity to work with Spider-Man.
