Rebecca Jollotta testimony: Psychiatric nurse who prescribed Lindsay Clancy meds offers stunning ‘weight loss’ details

Rebecca Jollotta, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, testified about her treatment of Lindsay Clancy at the South Shore perinatal behavioral clinic in 2022. Jollotta stated that she had treated five women with postpartum psychosis and hundreds of others with postpartum depression and anxiety. Clancy's attorney argued for her insanity defense, claiming she suffered from extreme postpartum psychosis when she strangled her three children.

Jollotta's involvement with Clancy began after Julie Paul left their practice, where Clancy had been treated previously. During their initial meeting, Jollotta discussed Clancy's medical history, including the antidepressant Remeron, which she deemed appropriate for Clancy due to her depression, anxiety, and reduced appetite. Clancy had lost six pounds between October and November, according to Jollotta.

She recommended therapy, mindfulness, and physical activity to Clancy, which had previously helped her. Jollotta's testimony followed a day after Clancy's attorney criticized another psychiatrist, citing limited experience, virtual appointments, and prescribed medications. Clancy, now 35, and her ex-husband, Patrick, are suing the doctors and hospitals for allegedly overmedicating her and misdiagnosing her with bipolar disorder and postpartum psychosis.

Clancy is facing three counts of first-degree murder and could face life in prison without parole if found guilty.
