Punjab Police Officer Caught Red-Handed While Allegedly Committing Robbery in Lahore

A Lahore police constable, Huzaifa, was apprehended while allegedly engaged in a robbery in the Harbanspura area, according to the DIG Operations spokesperson. The officer, who was allegedly in cahoots with an accomplice, was caught red-handed. Police recovered illegal weapons and a motorcycle from the suspects before placing them under arrest.

Charges have been filed against both men. The DIG Operations spokesperson stated that legal proceedings were initiated against the police official for his alleged participation in criminal activities, irrespective of any bias. Specifics regarding the alleged robbery and the identities of the other suspects have not been disclosed by the department.

This incident occurs amidst several recent cases of alleged misconduct and criminal behavior by police personnel in Punjab. Earlier this year, Lahore Police charged several officers under anti-begging laws after an investigation revealed that personnel in Shahdara and Islampura had reportedly been soliciting money from citizens under the guise of "Eidi."
