Priyanka Gandhi faces off against BJP MPs as Parliament impasse continues

On Tuesday, the ongoing impasse in Parliament saw the ruling alliance and the Opposition face-off taking place at the Makar Dwar, with Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra clashing with National Democratic Alliance (NDA) MPs. BJP-led NDA MPs protested against student violence in Jharkhand, while the Opposition held a demonstration against alleged donation fund theft at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and demanded a statement from Home Minister Amit Shah on a police crackdown in Delhi on July 20.

BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal urged for a detailed discussion on the students' agitation, stating that Rahul Gandhi kept changing the goalposts, preventing Parliament from functioning. The NDA decided to hold the protest at the weekly meeting, with senior MPs except ministers participating. Priyanka Gandhi addressed the BJP MPs, mentioning that Rahul Gandhi had met students from Jharkhand.

BJP's Surat MP Mukesh Dalal questioned Priyanka Gandhi for Rahul Gandhi's lack of visit to Jharkhand. The BJP's Tarun Chugh and Congress MP Varsha Gaikwad had a heated exchange, with Chugh accusing him of hypocrisy and Gaikwad asking for Amit Shah's apology. Meanwhile, inside the House, the Lok Sabha passed two Bills without debate, including one renaming Kerala as Keralam, amidst continued Opposition protests demanding Amit Shah's presence. The Rajya Sabha passed a Bill for a National Tribunal Commission.
