Police seek witnesses, dashcam footage over fatal Kajang crash

KAJANG: Police are urgently searching for witnesses and dashcam footage after a fatal accident involving a motorcycle and a car on Jalan Timur yesterday. Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof, the district police chief, confirmed that the collision claimed the life of a 35-year-old hospital technician. The incident occurred at 6.30pm, and initial reports indicate that the victim was on her way to a school in Sungai Kantan from Kajang Hospital.

She was in the left lane, while a 45-year-old housewife was driving a car in the right lane in the same direction. The accident took place when the car made a left turn into a junction, and the motorcyclist was unable to prevent a crash with the side of the vehicle. The victim succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The police are probing the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, with a potential sentence of five to 10 years in prison and a fine of RM20,000 to RM50,000.
