Osun people are ready for change, Oyebamiji dismisses Adeleke’s popularity

The All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate for Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has expressed confidence in his prospects of defeating incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke in the forthcoming election on August 15. Oyebamiji, known as AMBO, rejected allegations that his campaign was supported by the Federal Government, stating that his backing stemmed from the citizens of Osun.

Speaking at an Arise Townhall, Oyebamiji disclosed that he had conducted extensive consultations across 30-plus local government areas of the state on multiple occasions. His initial consultations aimed to gauge the readiness of party members to assume governance, while subsequent visits focused on campaign mobilization and engagement with community stakeholders.

Oyebamiji emphasized that his visits to inaugurate canvassers in each local government further reinforced his conviction that the people of Osun were eager for a change in leadership. He also revealed that he had sought input from various community leaders, artisans, market groups, civil servants, and other stakeholders. Oyebamiji confidently asserted that his campaign had garnered endorsements from approximately 42 sectors and groups within the state over the past two months.

He listed a diverse range of endorsers, including private enterprises, the government, civil servants, traders, women, youths, and other groups. Oyebamiji dismissed concerns about the popularity of his opponent, Governor Adeleke, stating that his background and professional experience made him a more formidable candidate. He urged voters to evaluate both candidates based on their qualifications and experience before casting their ballots.
