Osagyefo Kpolly Armah Foundation Renovates Female Prison Health Facility

The Osagyefo Kpolly Armah Foundation, in partnership with the Ashanti Regional Prisons Command, recently renovated and inaugurated the female prison health facility at Central Prisons in Kumasi. The project's enhancements included expanded office space for staff and a urinal, with the goal of improving healthcare services for both inmates and prison personnel.

The foundation's CEO, Kpolly Armah, addressed the commissioning ceremony, emphasizing the significance of healthcare and rehabilitation for female inmates. He urged the government, civil society organizations, philanthropists, and businessmen to contribute further support to correctional facilities, recognizing that these institutions serve the needs of various individuals, including mothers, wives, and sisters.

Armah pledged the foundation's commitment to providing consumables and collaborating with health service providers to maintain the facility. Additionally, Engineer Emmanuel Yaw Okai, a foundation member, called on the government, civil society organizations, philanthropists, and the media to support correctional facilities, reiterating the foundation's dedication to supplying consumables and working with health providers.

Ashanti Regional Commander of Prisons, DDP James B. Mwinyelle, informed that the male prison health facility was refurbished earlier by the Regional Coordinating Council during the Ashantifest. He praised the Osagyefo Kpolly Armah Foundation and acknowledged the efforts of inmate carpenters and others who contributed to the renovation.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, commended the foundation for the kind gesture towards inmates, aligning with the government's commitment to healthcare and rehabilitation. He urged the public to support the prison medical bank and the welfare of inmates, noting that prison serves as a training ground for inmates to integrate into society upon release.

Amoakohene also announced that four female inmates in Kumasi have been nominated for presidential pardon this year, emphasizing the importance of good behavior in the correctional system. He appealed for public support to the prison medical bank and the welfare of inmates.
