This development enables users to easily stay connected with their AI agent while away from their computer. The app enhances OpenClaw's integration with messaging platforms, allowing direct chat without passing through a third-party service.

Android users can even forward phone notifications to their AI agent. However, it's important to note that the mobile app does not run the OpenClaw gateway independently. Instead, it works in tandem with a gateway on another device, like a computer or server, which must remain powered on and accessible.

To set up the app, users should first download the appropriate version for their phone, either iPhone or Android. Once installed, opening the app and pairing it with the AI agent follows. Scanning a QR code generated by the agent or providing the gateway token facilitates this process. Users must then decide on the access permissions they're comfortable granting their AI agent, balancing between functionality and privacy.

Upon successful setup, the app will display a confirmation message, signaling that the basic configuration is complete.

One of the standout features of the OpenClaw companion app is its ability to utilize the phone's camera and microphone. Users can quickly send voice notes or pictures, ensuring they don't miss any important ideas or information while on the go.
