No recruitment ongoing, NUPRC warns job seekers against scammers

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has issued a warning to the public against fraudulent activities related to job recruitment. The NUPRC cautioned Nigerians to be wary of fake and AI-generated employment letters circulating under the commission's name. Additionally, the commission warned against fraudulent individuals demanding money under the false pretense of helping job seekers secure positions with the NUPRC.

The warning comes from a statement issued by the NUPRC's Head of Media and Corporate Communications, Eniola Akinkuotu, on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday. The commission has received reports of fake employment letters bearing names unknown to the organization and fraudulent individuals extorting money from unsuspecting members of the public.

The NUPRC has reported these activities to law enforcement agencies for investigation. The commission emphasized that there is currently no ongoing recruitment exercise at the commission and urged job seekers and the public to exercise caution and verify any employment-related information before taking any action or making payments.
