NCIA Launches Intelligence Profiling and Analytics Training for KRA Officers

The National Criminal Investigations Academy (NCIA) has begun a five-day Intelligence Profiling and Analytics Course for officers from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA). The training aims to enhance their ability to analyze information, interpret data, and make informed decisions to support intelligence-led enforcement within KRA.

During the opening ceremony, NCIA Commandant Ibrahim Jillo urged the participants to fully utilize the training and apply the skills they acquire in their daily work. He stated, "You are here to sharpen your ability to turn information into intelligence, and intelligence into action. Take advantage of this training, challenge yourselves, and return to KRA ready to make better-informed decisions."

Prisca Mutindi, representing KRA, stressed the significance of applying the knowledge and skills gained during the course to bolster the Authority's enforcement capabilities. She encouraged the attendees to learn, engage with the material, and use these skills to strengthen KRA's capacity to identify risks and stay ahead of emerging threats.

Jillo and Mutindi emphasized the training's role in the broader mandate of NCIA: to provide specialized and competency-based training to law enforcement agencies and other government institutions. The program also emphasizes the importance of inter-agency collaboration in preventing and investigating crime by equipping officers with specialized intelligence skills.

NCIA plans to conduct further training sessions in Basic and Advanced Intelligence Analysis, Surveillance, and Asset Tracing. These additional courses are expected to further improve the officers' capacity to conduct intelligence-led investigations, comprehend emerging risks, and support effective enforcement operations. As government agencies continue to integrate intelligence and data analysis into decision-making and enforcement operations, this latest training underscores the growing importance of these skills in modern policing.
