Mumbai Weather Update: Moderate Rain, Gusty Winds Continue; SpiceJet Issues Flight Advisory After Overnight Heavy Showers Affect Ops

Mumbai woke up Tuesday to moderate rain, cloudy skies, and gusty winds as monsoon conditions persisted across the city. From Monday night through early Tuesday morning, several parts of Mumbai experienced moderate to heavy showers. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that Mumbai and its suburbs would remain generally cloudy with light rain expected throughout the day.

While widespread heavy rainfall was unlikely, isolated areas could see moderate to heavy showers accompanied by gusty winds, with wind speeds between 40 and 50 kmph and gusts potentially reaching 50–60 kmph during intense rain spells. The maximum temperature for the day was expected to be around 31°C, with a minimum temperature of 28°C upon Tuesday morning's arrival.

SpiceJet, the airline, issued an advisory for passengers traveling to and from Mumbai, stating that heavy rainfall could impact flight operations, potentially causing disruptions to departures, arrivals, and connecting flights across routes. They advised passengers to check their flight status via the provided link to avoid any inconvenience.

Despite the ongoing rainfall, Mumbai's overall Air Quality Index (AQI) remained in the healthy range, with an AQI of 36, classified as 'Good' according to standard AQI classifications.
