Good morning Middle East Eye readers, here are the latest updates from the Middle East.

A drone struck near an oil tank and pipeline network at the Zawiya Oil Refining Company's blending plant in Libya. The National Oil Corporation (NOC) reported no casualties or damage from the third attack in two days. NOC warned that a refinery shutdown may be necessary if the attacks persist.

In Yemen, government-aligned military forces said Houthi rebels launched ballistic missiles at the Red Sea port city of Mocha. This attack is part of a series carried out by the Houthis in response to the ongoing conflict with Yemen's government troops.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he plans to seek compensation from Iran for the deaths of US soldiers during peace negotiations, following Iran's request for war reparations to open the Strait of Hormuz. Trump also refused to disclose any details about future actions in Washington's talks with Tehran, but hinted at the possibility of an escalation, saying: "Well, we have that certain ability if we want to do that... Yeah, you’ll find out."

The head of Libya's eastern-based military intelligence department, led by Khalifa Haftar, was killed on Monday in a targeted assassination. The explosive device planted in his vehicle detonated in the al-Sayyida Aisha residential neighborhood of eastern Benghazi.
