Minions & Monsters Is Now Available to Watch at Home

Minions & Monsters, the latest installment in Illumination's Minions franchise, has become available for purchase and rental on digital platforms such as Prime Video. The third Minions film debuted in theaters just over 40 days ago, and so far, it has grossed over $473 million globally on a budget of around $85 million, placing it among the top 10 highest-grossing movies of the year.

IGN's reviewer, Eric Goldman, praised the film, calling it the "best one yet." Set in the 20th century, the movie follows a tribe of Minions who mistake an actor for a notorious villain, leading them into contact with Hollywood.

Minions & Monsters is available to rent for $19.99 or purchase digitally for $29.99. Digital extras, including behind-the-scenes featurettes, are only included with the purchase option. Prime Video has also created a digital bundle of all three Minions movies for $49.99, offering a $10 discount compared to the usual full price. The movie is also available for preorder on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K, with the 4K collector's edition currently priced similarly to the digital version, although it won't ship until September 8.

Illumination has not announced any further plans for the Despicable Me franchise or the Minions, but the studio has recently expanded its portfolio with partnerships like the Mario movies. Super Mario Galaxy Movie, released earlier this year, set a record for the highest-grossing animated movie of 2026 at the global box office. It is likely that Illumination will continue to focus on the world of Nintendo in the future.

As for Minions & Monsters, it will eventually join other Despicable Me titles on streaming service Peacock, expected to be available by the end of October.
