Matthäus advises Nagelsmann to look for new job abroad

Former German football star Lothar Matthäus has advised current national team coach Julian Nagelsmann to seek employment abroad, following Germany's disappointing performance at the recent World Cup. In his Sky broadcaster column, Matthäus stated that Nagelsmann is unlikely to secure a top job in Germany anytime soon, due to increased scrutiny in the domestic football scene.

He emphasized that while no one intends to harm Nagelsmann personally, the coach has become overly sensitive to criticism and offense in the past. Matthäus noted that professional football criticism typically arises when results are poor or the team plays unattractive football, both of which were issues with Nagelsmann's team during the World Cup.

Following Germany's elimination by Paraguay in the round of 32, Nagelsmann resigned from his coaching position. Jürgen Klopp, a former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund manager, was subsequently appointed as the new national team coach.
