Malonga’s 26 points, 10 rebounds help the Storm snap 11-game skid with 97-88 win over the Sky

Dominique Malonga led the Seattle Storm to a 97-88 victory over the Chicago Sky on Monday night, helping the team end an 11-game losing streak. Malonga contributed 26 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks to the win. Natisha Hiedeman added 18 points and nine assists for the Storm. Chicago's DiJonai Carrington finished with a career-high 26 points, but the Sky's efforts were ultimately not enough.

The Storm led the Sky by 10 points in the fourth quarter before the Sky managed to close the gap to 84-82 with less than three minutes remaining on Carrington's steal and fast-break layup. However, Seattle guard Zia Cooke sealed the game with a 3-pointer from the corner, extending the Storm's lead to 89-82. Seattle led by at least five points for the remainder of the game, securing their first win since beating Los Angeles 82-64 on July 6.

Hiedeman went 12 of 12 at the free-throw line. Carrington, who returned to play after serving a Flagrant 2 foul and being ejected in a previous game, made all 10 of her free throws and contributed to Chicago's 21-12 record. Kamilla Cardoso and Courtney Vandersloot also played well for Chicago, scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds respectively.
