Lenovo's leaked ThinkBook shows a rollable OLED display that expands horizontally

Lenovo is reportedly developing a ThinkBook laptop with a horizontally expanding OLED display, according to newly obtained images. The device, internally known as Project Swan, aims to bring rollable-screen technology to a business-oriented laptop. In its unexpanded state, the laptop resembles a standard ThinkBook, with ThinkBook branding on the palm rest and a centered webcam on the top bezel.

Two USB-C ports are visible on the left side, but it is unclear if the right side has additional ports. The rear of the display reveals cutouts for a rail system that stores and extends the flexible OLED screen. The hinge appears shorter and closer to the center of the chassis, potentially facilitating the outward movement of the expanding screen.

Lenovo has previously introduced rollable PC concepts, such as the Legion Pro Rollable with a horizontally expanding 21:9 display and the ThinkPad Rollable XD concept that expands vertically from 13.3 inches to 16 inches. The Project Swan images suggest that Lenovo is actively developing multiple versions of rollable-display hardware rather than treating it as a one-off concept.

The device is currently in the pre-production stage, with Lenovo yet to announce a release date, specifications, or pricing. Windows 11 runs on the system, with Recall pinned to the taskbar. The keyboard lacks a Copilot key, which may be due to Project Swan being in an early development stage or a marketing render. Rollable laptops are a niche category, and while foldable phones have gained traction, PC makers have been slower to commit to flexible displays.

Despite this, Lenovo continues to invest in the technology, with other hardware expected to be showcased at Lenovo Innovation World 2026.
