Kim Soo-hyun to make 1st official public appearance in over a year after controversy

Actor Kim Soo-hyun will make his first official public appearance in over a year, marking a tentative return to the public eye following a controversy that halted his career. His agency, Gold Medalist, announced on Monday that Kim will participate in Mahakarya RCTI 37, a live anniversary special commemorating the 37th anniversary of Indonesian private broadcaster RCTI, in Jakarta on August 23.

The actor, appearing as a special guest, is expected to engage in stage activities, an interview, and meet local fans. The event has garnered significant attention as it represents Kim's first in-person public appearance since suspending his activities due to allegations surrounding his past relationship with late actress Kim Sae-ron.

In March of the previous year, Kim found himself entangled in controversy when allegations emerged that he had dated the late actress while she was still a minor. Kim admitted to dating the actress but denied that their relationship began when she was underage, as stated through various statements and a press conference.
