Jesse Minter Confirms Lamar Jackson's Status for Preseason Opener

He also announced that seasoned quarterback Lamar Jackson will not participate in the game.

Minter explained that some established players are being kept off the field for this inaugural contest. He emphasized that the decision will be made on an individual basis, considering factors such as experience and the number of snaps each player has already accumulated. Lamar Jackson has been sidelined for four games this season due to injuries, including a hamstring strain, a back contusion, and other ailments.

Given his recent health concerns, it is understandable that the Ravens are exercising caution with their star quarterback during the preseason. The Ravens will conclude their preseason schedule with matches against the Minnesota Vikings and Washington Commanders. They will then kick off their regular-season campaign with a Week 1 game against the Indianapolis Colts on September 13.
