Jeff the Killer Movie in Development From TikTok Creator Savanah Moss and Tongal | Exclusive

Tongal, a creator-led studio, is joining forces with filmmaker Savanah Moss, who has 11.4 million TikTok followers, to develop a feature film adaptation of Jeff the Killer. Jeff the Killer began as an online creepypasta in 2008, portraying a 13-year-old serial killer. The character has gained internet fame, with various versions of his story emerging over time.

Best known for her "fever dream" videos, Moss leverages comedy and horror to create captivating short sketches. As a producer on the project, Moss will contribute to the creative direction and facilitate opportunities for her community and emerging filmmakers throughout the movie's development. The first open project for the film is currently available for pitches on Tongal's website.

Moss expressed her nostalgic connection to Jeff the Killer, having previously used the character in her "Fever Dream" videos. She aims to create a terrifyingly real horror film that stays true to the character's origins. Moss will co-produce the film alongside Mark Korshak and Michael McKay, making this Tongal's first original feature-length horror film.

The studio has already secured film rights to the cult-classic video game Tecmo Bowl and has collaborated with notable partners like Focus Features and the LEGO Group. Moss believes the line between creators and filmmakers is blurring, as seen in successful films like "Backrooms" and "Obsession." She is confident that Jeff the Killer will be a major success, likening it to the impact of "The Blair Witch Project" on distribution.
