JBL To Launch Pulse 6 Speaker In China With 12-Hour Battery, IP68 Resistance Rating

JBL has announced the launch of the Pulse 6 Bluetooth speaker in China. This is the successor to the Pulse 5, which was originally released in 2023. The Pulse 6 shares a similar design to its predecessor, with a transparent cylindrical body featuring a 360-degree LED lighting system. However, it introduces an illuminated handle on top for easier carrying. The speaker offers 16 different lighting patterns and basic EQ controls, which can be adjusted via the JBL One app.

The Pulse 6 boasts an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, ensuring durability. It features a 30W RMS woofer and a 10W RMS tweeter, delivering a total output of 40W. The speaker has a frequency response of 42Hz to 20kHz and employs an AI Sound Boost algorithm to minimize distortion at high volumes. It supports Bluetooth 6.0 with SBC, AAC, and LC3 codecs, as well as Auracast for connecting to other compatible JBL speakers.

Additionally, it includes a built-in digital-to-analogue converter (DAC) and a USB-C port for lossless audio playback on Mac and PCs.

The device is equipped with a 34Wh battery, supporting 15W USB-C charging. A full charge takes approximately 4.5 hours, and the Pulse 6 can provide up to 12 hours of playback on a single charge. Its Playtime Boost feature can extend this by around two additional hours. In China, the Pulse 6 is priced at CNY2,499 (~RM1,516), although the official release date and wider market availability are yet to be confirmed.

The speaker is also listed on JBL Cambodia’s website, though its availability in Malaysia remains uncertain, as it is not yet in SIRIM’s database.
