Francesca Hong, a 37-year-old Korean American from Wisconsin, is running for governor in the Democratic Party's primary election. She hopes her victory would make her the first female governor of Wisconsin and the US' first governor of Korean heritage.

During her campaign, Hong has emphasized issues such as funding public schools, providing essential services, and improving healthcare and childcare costs. Hong noted that these policies are not unique to the US, as many are already implemented in conservative countries like Korea. She believes that these policies, if implemented in the US, would lead to better lives for everyone.

Hong also addressed the possibility of swing voters who previously supported Trump returning to her side. She stressed that these voters care about issues like fully funding public schools, taxing ultra-wealthy individuals and corporations, and preventing data centers from defunding local communities.

Hong's immigrant background has shaped her values, and she sees her potential victory as a triumph for progressive values. She aims to make Wisconsin a state that is not controlled by billionaires and mega corporations but instead focuses on the needs of everyday people, including mothers, nurses, and farmers.
