Industrial Action: Sheathe Your Sword, Exercise Restraint, NCAA Tells Unions

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has called upon aviation unions to exercise restraint and cease their industrial action that has disrupted flights and affected passengers. The authority explained that the issue was expected to be addressed during a meeting convened by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, last week.

However, the meeting was unable to take place as airline operators did not respond to the invitation. In a statement released on Tuesday by the NCAA Director General, Captain Chris Najomo, he emphasized the need for dialogue and cooperation to resolve the matter. Najomo assured the public that flight safety remains a top priority and that the authority will continue to uphold its safety oversight responsibilities.

He appealed to all parties to embrace dialogue and cooperation, expressing confidence that the matter would be resolved soon, allowing normal flight operations to resume as quickly as possible. Najomo apologized for the inconvenience caused to passengers and expressed gratitude for their patience and understanding during this challenging period.
