Parliament has dismissed claims made by National Coloured Congress (NCC) leader Fadiel Adams about his parliamentary laptop consistently failing. The National Coloured Congress leader appeared at a magistrate's court in Pinetown on May 15, 2026, but did not testify, as his appearance was postponed due to a statement he submitted late on Monday night.

South Africa is seeking reimbursement from Malawi, Nigeria, and Ethiopia for repatriation costs incurred in repatriating their citizens. The Department of Home Affairs has written to these countries to request the reimbursement. In June, several countries began repatriating their citizens from South Africa following anti-illegal immigrant protests. The deadline for undocumented foreign nationals to leave the country was June 30, 2026, and they were threatened with a national shutdown if they failed to comply.

Snowfall has been reported in several parts of Johannesburg, including Meyersdal, Alberton, Glenvista, Kensington, and Germiston on the East Rand. The last time it snowed in Johannesburg was on July 10, 2023, when snow covered various parts of the province, creating a winter wonderland.
