Gov Adeleke expresses concern over video of alleged threat on Osun Accord members

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State expressed concerns on Tuesday over a viral video showing Senator Francis Fadahunsi allegedly calling for the killing of Accord leaders and their family members. The governor highlighted the incident as a national security matter, urging President Bola Tinubu to address the issue through the Office of the National Security Adviser.

He demanded an immediate investigation and arrest of Senator Fadahunsi, while calling on security agencies to stop unlawful operations against Accord members and ensure compliance with the rule of law before, during, and after the governorship election. Additionally, Governor Adeleke alleged that a police directive had been issued for the immediate arrest of Accord Party leaders in Osun State ahead of the election, and claimed that more than 62 Accord leaders were currently being held in police custody without charges.

The governor emphasized that such actions undermined the electoral process and called for an assurance from the police that no such directive had been issued.
