Girl ‘gang-raped’ by five dies by suicide in Gujrat

GUJRAT: A 17-year-old girl named 'M' allegedly endured a horrific ordeal of gang rape by five suspects before tragically taking her own life at Sanda village in Mandi Bahauddin district's Miana Gondal police precincts. The incident occurred on Monday, leaving the community in shock and despair. Zulfiqar Ahmed, the father of the victim, recounted to the police that he had gone to a nearby shop for a short while, leaving his daughter alone at home.

Upon his return, he discovered his daughter in a state of distress and later found her deceased. The father explained that during his absence, five individuals from the same village allegedly abducted his daughter, took her to a secluded location, subjected her to severe sexual violence, and then abandoned her at their residence.

He further revealed that his daughter's emotional trauma led her to ingest lethal medication, ultimately resulting in her untimely death. The police registered a case against the five suspects under Section 322 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which addresses unlawful acts without the intent to cause death or harm but inadvertently lead to someone's demise.

However, the investigation is still in its early stages, as the allegation of gang rape awaits confirmation through the victim's medical report. Forensic evidence will be sent to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) lab for further examination. As of now, no arrests have been made in the case.
