GEA seeks Gender Ministry’s support for Female Future Programme

The Ghana Employers' Association (GEA) has reached out to the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection to seek support for an extension of its Female Future Programme to female Members of Parliament. The initiative aims to enhance leadership development among women in senior management positions. A delegation from the GEA met with the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, to discuss the proposed collaboration.

The Female Future Programme, established in Ghana over the past eight to nine years, focuses on equipping women with necessary skills for higher leadership roles. Building on the programme's achievements, the GEA sees potential in expanding its reach to female MPs. Dr Lartey expressed her support for initiatives promoting women's empowerment and leadership, indicating the Ministry's commitment to such efforts.

The Ministry has requested the GEA to submit a comprehensive concept note, enabling them to review the proposal and offer technical input. Both parties agreed to continue discussions to explore possible collaboration, with an aim to tailor the programme to Ghana's local context and priorities.
