Fraser confirms intentions for Carlton coaching job after hot streak

Carlton interim coach Josh Fraser has announced his intention to take on the role of the club's full-time coach, following a string of impressive wins. Initially, Fraser had expressed reluctance to accept the permanent position when he took over after Michael Voss's departure mid-season. However, his recent 10-0 record in 12 games has led him to reconsider his stance.

Now among five candidates for the permanent position, Fraser joins fellow assistant coaches Jaymie Graham, Corey Enright, James Kelly, and Daniel Giansiracusa. All five, including Fraser, are former assistant coaches for their respective clubs. Carlton caretaker Fraser is eager to secure the full-time coaching job and has communicated his enthusiasm to the club's hierarchy.

The Blues, under Fraser's interim guidance, have shown remarkable improvement, winning 10 of their 12 games since Voss's departure. With one win and eight losses under their belt before Voss's exit in mid-May, the Blues are now positioned tenth on the ladder, holding a two-win lead over 11th-placed St Kilda with just two rounds remaining.

Carlton anticipates a wildcard finals berth, with their final home-and-away game set against Fremantle on Sunday.
