Farhan Akhtar takes a dig at Ranveer Singh’s exit from Don 3: ‘A pattern nowadays’

Farhan Akhtar appeared to take a playful jab at Ranveer Singh's departure from the film Don 3 during a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India. The actor was discussing the challenges of securing actors' schedules when he recalled the storyline of his own directorial debut, Dil Chahta Hai. Farhan recounted how lead actor Saif Ali Khan had a scheduling conflict with another film, which ultimately led to his exit from the project.

Recalling the tight timeline leading up to filming, Farhan remarked, "So, like, that was too heartbreaking for me. Not ten days, I think it was maybe about a month away from filming, which seems to be a pattern nowadays." While Farhan did not explicitly name Ranveer, the remark drew parallels to the controversy surrounding Don 3, where the actor reportedly exited the project just weeks before production was set to begin.

Farhan had previously spoken about the uncertainty surrounding the film, sharing that the experience had taught him to "expect the unexpected." He emphasized the importance of dealing with professional setbacks and processing disappointments, drawing from his own experiences with the failure of his second directorial venture, Lakshya.
