Everton, Crystal Palace complete swap deal involving Brennan Johnson and Dwight McNeil

Everton and Crystal Palace announced on Friday that they had finalized a swap deal involving wingers Brennan Johnson and Dwight McNeil. Johnson, a Wales international, has signed a four-year contract with David Moyes' Everton after joining from Tottenham in a £35 million (US$47 million) move in January. The 25-year-old was an unused substitute in Palace's UEFA Conference League final success last year, and he scored Tottenham's winning goal in their Europa League final victory a year prior.

Johnson expressed his enthusiasm for joining Everton during a recent interview with Everton TV, stating that the manager, players, and the team's direction are what attracted him to the club. McNeil, 26, had been close to moving to Crystal Palace during the January transfer window but could not complete the deal in time. The former England under-21 international has also signed a four-year deal with the Eagles.

McNeil told the Crystal Palace website that he is excited to be a part of the team's success over the last two seasons and looks forward to getting started. Everton finished 13th in the Premier League last season, two places above Palace.
